Now playing: Irvine

I think I was a little apprehensive when someone told me Irvine was from Cape Town. I’ve lost faith in Cape Town rock music since the Dirty Skirts went from awesome to crazy. Maybe all that sea air gets to the bands eventually. But it hasn’t got to Irvine yet, because they’ve still got a firm hold on the energetic rock sound that we love.

Irvine was formed by Bob and Chris Thorpe in 2006, but it really began to take shape in ’09 with an expanded line-up and new recordings. They’ve received extensive local and international recognition for their passionate brand of rock music.
